Diffraction at LHC with ALICE

The main elements of the ALICE detector and of the ALICE physics programme will be presented. It will be discussed father in detail the first measurement at LHC of Single and Double Diffraction cross sections in pp collisions, at √s = 0.9, 2.76 and 7 TeV, and their consequences in the understanding of inelastic pp interactions. It will be also briefly decsribed ALICE’s studies of centrally produced systems, selected with a two-pseudorapidity gap topology. Finally, the ALICE’s plans for diffraction studies in p-Pb collisions and in the future pp run at √s ≥ 13 TeV will be briefly mentioned.
